Android 2.1.... when?
I am the proud owner of an xperia x10 and have recently found out about the new upgrade to android 2.1
Waiting for that little upgrade icon in my status bar is killing me, just the thought of being able to shoot videos of my friends performing ridiculous drunken acts in HD is getting me excited!
Not to mention the FIVE home screens I'll get to fill with silly apps I never use.
So when will this "android 2.1" happen??? i do not know, but here is what to expect from 2.1...
HD video recording with continuous auto-focus for high quality videos
Upgrade of the Android platform to Android 2.1
New backup and restore application, with extended content back up
5 homescreens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders
Social phonebook which automatically syncs contact pictures from Facebook and shows when your friends are online
Also I think I must add that I'm on vodafone network, the last to update the firmware. Why is this? all other UK networks have this update but vodafone still wont.
Spuds in space!
A group of children from Landscove primary school have launched a potato dressed as Santa into space.
The festively decorated spud was placed into a "spaceship" called "Spudnik2" after the first mission named "Spudnik1" failed. The shuttle was tied to a helium balloon before being launched from a car park in Devon.
After reaching an altitude of 90,000ft, the balloon burst and "Spudnik2" floated down to earth on its parachute.
Thanks to the crafts GPS tracking system, it was found 140 miles away in Hampshire.
The pupils were amazed by the pictures taken by the the on board camera which showed stunning images of the Earth's curvature.
Head teacher Robin Smith admitted it was a ''mad idea'' but was also a way of teaching youngsters – who designed several ''pilots'' – about space and the earth's atmosphere.
He said: ''The kids loved doing things that are unusual, so if you tell them they will be launching a potato into space you really engage their interest.
''It may seems like a mad idea, but it was a unique project and the children really learned a lot from the experience.
''We try to provide an education that enhances the children's creative skills and encourages them to find solutions to problems.
''This project was a really good way to develop this side of their thinking. It was ridiculous but really good fun.''
The spacecraft carried these immortal lines ''one small step for spud, one giant leap for spudkind''.

Welcome to megizzmo.
Welcome to Megizzmo!
A place for me to give my view and perspective on the Internet, technology, entertainment and everything in between.
The value of Internet companies such as google and facebook has over taken many of the worlds biggest players. From this we can clearly see that the Internet and all that it involves has massively changed the way we communicate, work and play.
The world has changed so much in the last 15 years, I can hardly believe how things have moved on in my short life. Who knows where things will be in another 15 years...
we shall see....
